A dramatic castle venue requires decadently dramatic styling and of course, a kick ass statement hair accessory!
If you're looking for a modern take on medieval wedding styling for your castle wedding, then you're in the right place...
When tattoo artist Zak, and his fierce, funny, and slightly sweary wife Nina, got married (in a non-legally binding styled wedding kinda way) at the luxury castle hotel, Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, the team of wedding professionals behind the styling for the day, weren't bothering themselves with demure.
With a styling brief of 'Medieval meets Game of Thrones,' florists Diddibox Flowers went big for this shoot with a bouquet that trailed with indigenous ivy and ferns, punched through with the rich jewel tones of Love-Lies-Bleeding, a mauve flowering clematis, and the deepest red peonies.
Cheadle Bride brought the breath-taking for this shoot with two delicious, figure hugging, Essence of Australia gowns, the second of which featured one heck of a show-stopping lace detailed train, fit for our Queen of the castle!
With a Game of Thrones Dragon Queen as my muse I couldn't wait to see how Jen of Wildflower Hair Company styled my OLIVIA Crown.
Jen worked to keep things unstructured, textured and wildly romantic for our Queen's first look, moving through to pinning the braid up for the second look allowing the full impact of the plunge back of the Essence of Australia gown to come through, and enabling Nina's tattoo art to take centre stage!
This Peckforton Castle shoot provided a great opportunity to show off how many of my current crown designs, including my AMINA gold and pearl bridal crown, can also be worn as a statement neckpiece, either as you move from day to evening on your wedding day, or long after your wedding to effortlessly dress up an outfit for a special occasion.
There were so many elements of this shoot that I adored, and that in these times of reduced numbers at your wedding, you can adopt to achieve a big wedding feel at a small in size wedding.
A small wedding doesn't mean small details! So where you might now be trimming the budget through spending less on food and drink for guests, my advice is to take that budget and blow it on accessories, florals, table styling and of course the dress!
Your small wedding will have big impact, and powerful images to remember the most royally wonderful day of your lives...
