Well that sudden skip from leaden grey skies to those of cobalt blue happened quickly didn't it? And after a lazy dog walk in the sunshine this morning, where I couldn't resist stopping to whip my camera phone out to capture some of the season's most delicious yellows - the Daffs & Forsythia in the above mood board were taken with my iphone - I'm reminded how much I love this sunniest of colours in all of it's shades and tones.
Mellow yellow, sunshine yellow, buttery, creamy, mustard, lemon...in any tone, yellow has the ability to make us smile, and when combined with dove greys, royal blues, peaches, oranges, or greens, yellow can take your wedding styling from elegant, understated Regency, through to fun 50's colour pop!
For bouquets think soft, pastel yellows combined with peaches and punched through with silvery-green Eucalyptus leaves, or big, happy Sunflowers shouting for attention alongside purple Clematis.
Your groom can't fail to look dashing in Slate Grey or Royal Blue if he chooses yellow for his button-hole, tie, and waistcoat.
Our eyes see the colour yellow faster than other colours, so wear it close to your face if you want all eyes on you... it's also the colour of optimism and pleasure, so very fitting for your wedding day colour scheme!
